2021 season will see an important news for ProGP Racing, which, thanks to the partnership with JDS Moto Racing, is set to debut in the ASBK Australian Championship as ProGP Racing Junior Team, a project which aims to be a reference point for young australian riders on their path to the WorldSBK.<\/p>\n

From the partnership between Omar Menghi and Jake Skate, a new structure has born and will unite the important values of ProGP Racing and its technical partner with the Australian Championship\u2019s experience of JDS Moto, for a project born this season with the clear target to strengthen over the years thanks to the mutual passion for the motorcycle world and the common visions about young riders\u2019 growth.<\/p>\n

The very young Jindera, NSW local Archie McDonald will be the rider who will race with the ProGP Racing Junior Team\u2019s Yamaha YZF-R3, with the number 69 rider who after starting his career off road, winning dirt track\u2019s titles over titles, made the switch to the road races from 2019, racing in the bLUcRU Oceania Junior Cup, ended in fourth place.<\/p>\n

In the 2021 season the young australian will be at the start of the ASBK Supersport 300 for the second consecutive year, after a good debut in the 2020 season, reduced due to the coronavirus emergency, in which anyway he fought for the national championship\u2019s title until the end, to then end in fourth place in the overall classification, touching the podium reached in the Yamaha R3 Cup, ended in third.<\/p>\n

So McDonald will try again the assault to the national title with ProGP Racing Junior Team\u2019s Yamaha, already tasted in a private test these days with positive feelings, with the target to consolidate his experience in this category at national level, to then be able to continue his journey to the World Championship.<\/p>\n

ProGP Racing Junior Team will make its official debut at Phillip Island on February 19th for the first round of ASBK Supersport 300 Championship, first of seven rounds in which Archie McDonald and ProGP Racing Junior Team will give their best to try to reach their targets.<\/p>\n

Omar Menghi \u2013 ProGP Racing Team Owner:<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m thrilled about having the opportunity to debut with our team in such an important reality as the Australian SBK Championship is. This will happen thanks to the partnership with Jake Skate and JDS Moto Racing, which I first met in the Italian Championship years ago when Jake and its team raced there. From that moment we understood we share lot of essential aspects, reason why I\u2019m very happy to be able to start this new journey with him. Our project originates from the desire to give to young australian riders the opportunity to build a path through the motorcycle world, starting from the national championship to then reach the WorldSBK, in which this season we will take part for the third consecutive year, second one as permanent team. I\u2019m finally very happy to welcome Archie McDonald, our very young rider who will race with our colours. I\u2019m confident that giving our best Archie will be able to show his potential and we will reach our targets for this season\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

Jake Skate \u2013 ProGP Racing Junior Team Manager:<\/strong> \u201cIt\u2019s a great privilege to bring the iconic Italian ProGP Racing team to Australia for its debut in the ASBK. I think I speak for us both when I say Omar Menghi and I share a common vision for developing young riders and supporting their growth. From the early stages of discussion of this project it was important for us to provide a pathway for a rider\u2019s future, and we have put in place all of the ingredients for a competitive package, with the right people and equipment to have a strong season of racing and rider development. I am looking forward to the challenge of the ASBK Australian SS300 Championship and providing a strong platform for our rider to show its potential\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
